Cici – A Star is born!

Cici is a two year old mixed breed little pistol of a pup. She was surrendered to the shelter due to a broken leg which occurred while she was running in her yard. As I said, she is a pistol of a pup and and her energy got in the way of safety. Her owner was unable to cover the surgery needed to repair the leg and surrendered her so she would get the care that was needed. Cici is a firecracker while running and a quick fall left her with a complete fracture of the tibia and fibula.

So Friends of the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, in true Friends style, stepped up to cover the surgery necessary to put our Humpty Dumpty back together again.  The shelter staff had to keep her quiet and on no activity during her healing. Quite a challenge for this little dog for sure. Once given the ok, Cici was able to join play groups with close supervision and monitoring. She was soon adopted by a local couple who referred to her as a little urchin. Cici has made the local news multiple times as her dad is a writer for a local newspaper and he has shared some of her new adventures in his column.  He has referred to her as his young juvenile delinquent and for good reason.

He has shared her meets with his farm animals—chickens were not big fans! Cantaloupe the Goat however has become a new friend. Cici loves to alert her new family to the return of Little Fox with avengence—a response that is greatly appreciated by her dad.  Juvenile delinquent she may be, but she is so loved. She decided that this is the home for her. Both mom and dad agree as dad continues to share little bits of Cici in his column. And another success story for a shelter pet that was made possible with the help of Friends of the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.  Donations are what help us help them.
